Thirty days dry is still on. Well, allowing for one cheat day a week. Dave's mom's birthday party was during happy hour at a very nice bar our first weekend of Dry January and the modified rule was born. So while you technically could call this a damp January, I still call it a success. The point of this challenge was to be more healthy. I was in the habit of having on average two beers a night. Dave was having a bit more than me. It felt like a really bad habit and our waist lines were showing it.
Our new routine has us drinking lots of peppermint tea. I now start the kettle while I'm cooking dinner, without even thinking about it. I have also been drinking a fair bit of diet pop (yes folks, I'm from Minnesota, its called pop).
I can't say that I've seen a big drop on the scale, but I can say that I have noticed a nice effect on my body. I feel a little slimmer. My pants are fitting a little better. Now just wait till I start back into 30 days of running!
I have been inspired by 30 Challenges for 30 Days. I also have just turned 30. The timing is perfect.

New Year, New Challenge
Happy New Year! My new thirty day challenge has begun. Let me tell you - three days into it, dry January is harder than I thought it would be. Even with that said, I feel confident that I will complete this 30 day challenge.
In other news, 30 days of running is getting off to a bit of a slow start. I have finally completely recovered from the illness that derailed my first attemt at this challege. So no excuess. Running! I will go after work today. The end.
